About the Institute of Shamanic
Wisdom
The Institute of Shamanic Wisdom, Inc., (ISW) is dedicated to the
self-empowerment, spiritual wellness and personal growth of our clients.
Dr. Liana Carbón founded the Institute to provide opportunities for
transformation and healing through cross-cultural shamanism and other
earth-honoring wisdom and ceremonial practices.
Through a broad range of educational programs and journeys, students
can learn the ways of the shaman and energy medicine healers from a
faculty that has studied with indigenous cultures around the world. Our
healing sessions provide relief in an individual setting.
While our practices are cross-cultural-as we aim to honor, protect
and support the medicine people of all indigenous cultures-the Institute
is also specifically dedicated to teaching the mythic reality of the
First Nations culture.
We are a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization located in San Diego, CA,
supported by a Board of Advisors, which includes experts in a variety of
shamanic and other energy medicine cultures.

shamanic wisdom and practices that transcend the individual cultures of
indigenous communities around the globe—giving you a richer
understanding of these time-honored traditions and their relevance to

focus, providing a broader education in alternative healing and
